While Tom Cruise is away (shooting a movie in Spain and avoiding runaway bulls), the girls will play! Katie Holmes took advantage of some downtime during filming of The Romantics to take her daughters out on the town. On Saturday, Katie took Suri to a matinee showing of The Lion King on Broadway. And on Sunday, stepdaughter Isabella (not pictured) joined in the fun... First, the girls did some shopping at trendy Topshop. Then it was off to lunch at Balthazar in SoHo, followed by the ballet at the Joyce Theater. Their day out was topped off by a stop at Serendipity, a restaurant famous for its frozen hot chocolate. These girls are really living the high life, huh? We were about to crown Katie best mom ever when we realized that once again, Suri doesn't have a coat on! Before her tour bus's tragic crash, it was a Party in the USA for Miley Cyrus' 17th birthday. More like party in the Big Apple, actually. The teen queen (who's actual birthday is today), was surprised by her mom with an '80s rocker themed bash at the Canal Room last Wednesday, with about 200 friends, her tour crew and dancers attending.  Big brother Trace and boyfriend Liam Hemsworth were also on hand for the throwback fete, featuring performances from the Rock of Ages cast and a special cake designed by TLC's Cake Boss, Buddy Valastro. Liam and Miles couldn't hide their affection during the bash... "She and Liam are definitely a couple," an insider tells E! News. "They were holding hands, canoodling and looked like they were really into each other." There was no boozing because of the underage B-day girl, natch, but party goers like Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough dined on comfort food like mac and cheese, mini pizzas, sliders, chicken fingers and Miley's favorite, sushi, all provided by Cocktail Caterers. Of course, in true Miley fashion, the fete wasn't without some controversy. Some bloggers slammed the birthday girl over her provocative outfit, which was a belly-baring shirt, tiny shorts and high boots. While most of the New Moon cast was at the official afterparty following last night's screening in New York, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart slipped away for some private quality time. Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz and Peter Facinelli all hit up the postscreening bash held at the Box. Ed Westwick also made a late appearance, with girlfriend Jessica Szohr arriving even later. But Rob and Kristen were over at Avenue, holding court at a table upstairs with a bodyguard making sure people gave them their privacy—but no such luck. Rob, trying to go incognito, wore a baseball cap, while Kristen was smoking a cigarette (which is illegal). Unlike the movie, there was no Taylor around, and Kristen seemed to only have eyes for Rob... The costars were sitting right next to each other and kept whispering in each other's ears and laughing together. At one point, Kristen started stroking Rob's back. Time to roll out the pink carpet! Even though CBS won't air the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show until Dec. 1, I can tell you all about the event going down tonight. There are some changes this year: the show has been moved back to New York City, and new mama Heidi Klum is telling everyone on the red carpet that she's just going to host—not walk the runway—this time around. The Black Eyed Peas get the party started, hitting the stage to perform "Boom Boom Pow." Fergie's singing live and dancing up a storm as models strut in futuristic lingerie getups. Jay-Z is watching from the front row sans Beyoncé and looks impressed by Fergie's pipes. After the group finishes "Meet Me Halfway," there's a surprise... Heidi is walking the runway! She does her signature catwalk in a fairy-type getup and the place goes crazy. Michelle Trachtenberg sits next to her Gossip Girl costar Matthew Settle, as Kings of Leon look on (while their song plays, how meta). What else is happening in New York City? Well, across town at the Plaza, Diddy is throwing himself a birthday party, with help from Bono, Kim Kardashian and Martha Stewart. (Which one of these does not belong?) Now I'm off the to the New Moon afterparty at the Box, where the cast is hanging. Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz are on hand, as well as Gossip Girl's Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr...but where are Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson? I'm gonna try and find out. Hot mama Heidi Klum left her kids—and her heart—back in California to come host the Victoria's Secret fashion show in NYC today. Klum's been a leggy fixture on the lingerie catwalk for years, but understandably this time around, it was hard for the mom of four to leave her little ones—including newborn Lou—back in L.A. "It is, but tomorrow at noon, I'll be back home," Heidi said of her quickie trip to the Big Apple. "I take the first flight at 7:30!" But as long as she's emceeing the sexy CBS special, there is one thing Heidi's really looking forward to... The model mama says she can't wait to see the Black Eyed Peas perform. "I love that song 'Boom Boom Pow'! It kinda of changes the adrenaline for everyone because you feel the bass inside your body," she told me. Maybe they'd let Heidi sing backup? She did sing during the V.S. show with Seal two years ago, after all. "No, I don't think they want to hear me!" she laughed. And although the supermodel looks perfectly svelte to me, she says she's still got more weight to lose. "I still have 20 pounds to go," she said. "It's a little bit everywhere. I have a whole closet full of clothes that I want to get back into. It's what I do. Paris Hilton and Doug Reinhardt looked every inch the happy couple at her Celebrity Styler launch party last night, so imagine our surprise to read that police were supposedly called to her house hours later to break up a nasty fight between the two. Now cops are telling us the alleged drunken disturbance in her driveway never happened—or, at least, there's nothing on record and no citations were issued. "We have no knowledge of officers stopping by her or Doug's last night or early this morning," an LAPD spokesman tells E! News. A source extremely close to Paris and Doug says the spat was actually between a houseguest and his girlfriend. "Paris and Doug were in bed sound asleep" when it happened, according to the insider.   But Paris is making some noise right now that she wants us to hear... The "Stars Are Blind" singer is working on a second album...and this time, she might be coming to a city near you. "I definitely want to do a tour this time around," she told E! News last night. Paris Hilton has taken over the rooftop of the Thompson Hotel tonight...literally. In true Hilton style, the roof is decked out in pink, from the lighting to the bubbly, and the entire wall of the building is projecting commercials for her latest venture (and the reason for the party): the Celebrity Styler, a curling iron/brush/flatiron. The event starts at 7 p.m.  A few My New BFF castoffs mug for the cameras before Paris' parents, Rick and Kathy, hit the carpet. At 7:36, the guest of honor arrives with boy-toy Doug Reinhardt in tow. The couple takes a few quick photos before Doug bows out for P's solo shots. Then it's time for pics with her parents. Kathy is loving the cameras—like mother, like daughter—until a reporter informs her that daughter Nicky was in a minor fender bender... Rick and Kathy are clearly worried until word comes that Nicky's fine. Then they continue interviews. Doug, clad in a lavender shirt picked out by Paris, says wedding bells aren't ringing just yet. Despite rumors, the two aren't engaged, but he assures me it's definitely looking "long term." Then I ask about rumors that Paris may be jealous of her former friend Kim Kardashian. "Just look at her," he says, gesturing toward his hot pink girlfriend. "She's not jealous of anyone." Indeed. Paris herself says the same. "I wish them the best," she tells me of her former friend and Kim's famous fam. One friend welcome at her bash? Britney Spears, whose hit "Gimme More" is blasting. Nicky arrives unharmed and sashays around the pool. Guests grub on lobster tacos, spicy tuna rolls and steak and chicken skewers as Paris takes over the mic to thank guests for coming and to debut her new commercials. There's no table dancing or PDA sessions tonight for the former party girl. She calls it an early night, and all partygoers get gift bags with the Styler and brush. Score! But the night is still young for me. I'm off to Leona Lewis' record release party at Hyde. But bummer: I got word that the songbird has a sore throat and is saving her powerhouse pipes. She won't be doing any interviews, only pics. But I'm still going to see if Justin Timberlake, John Mayer, Katy Perry or any of the expected celebs show. Now that John Mayer's turned 32, is he ready to stop being such a player? Maybe. While promoting his new album, Battle Studies, the notorious player (face it, his exes list reads like a Who's Who of Hollywood) said he actually wants to explore his picket-fence options with somebody special. "Everybody wants to settle down," he told E! News. "If my first relationship had gone right, I'd be married by now and have babies. I'd be like 'I'm with my high school sweetheart.' " Well obviously that didn't happen, but John also says all of his relationships had the potential to go all the way... "Any one of them are designed to last," he added. That should make Jen Aniston happy to hear, huh? Speaking of Jen, he refused to answer any questions directly about her, but he did talk Twitter. First he said it's "dumb"—then went on to brag about his 2.5 million followers and wax about being the voice of Twitter. Whatever you  say, John! ________ John Mayer's not married yet, but maybe one day, he'll make it into our Hunky Hollywood Husbands gallery. Dare to dream!

OMG, Jessica Biel hasn't seen Twilight! The actress hit up the premiere of her new movie Planet 51 on Saturday—right around the corner from where fans were camped out for tonight's New Moon premiere. But Jess confessed she hasn't caught onto the craze just yet. "I haven't seen any of them," she admitted. "I'm so behind the times! I'm embarrassed to say that." So even though she hasn't seen the movie, she must know who Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are, right? That'd be a no. When asked if she was on Team Edward or Team Jacob, she replied: "I don't even know who that is." We're sure all the Twi-hards camping around the corner would have been happy to fill her in!

When Jon Gosselin touched down at LAX yesterday, we were sure he was about to launch another media-whoring trip here in Hollywood and braced ourselves for the obligatory photo ops of him lunching at the Ivy and shopping on Robertson Boulevard. Thankfully, we learned that he was just stopping over en route to Hawaii. Ya know, the very special destinationwhere he renewed his wedding vows with Kate just last year as cameras rolled. Only this time around, he's there for someone else's romantic rendezvous, reportedly attending the wedding of Phillies baseballer Shane Victorino. And although Jon made the trip solo, we're hearing he's still very much on with girlfriend Hailey Glassman. Even though the two recently announced they were "taking a break," a source tells E! News they're in constant contact... "They're on. They talk, like, five times a day," a source tells us of the twosome. "They're very up and down, like teenagers. She loves him." Could the infamous dad of eight have announced his split with Hailey in hopes of rehabbing his rep? "Jon knows what everyone thinks about him, and regrets many of his decisions made in the past," a source tells E! News. "He wants to start making decisions that will make his children proud." One such move could be to start a children's charity, according to our source. We think he could start by getting some spelling lessons, but that's just us.
